The Mobile World Congress 2010 will see two giant releases from Microsoft if this Digitimes report is correct. They will be launching Windows Mobile 6.6 at the conference and are also expected to announce the launch date for WinMo 7 at that time. 7 is expected to be ready for Microsoft's handheld hardware partners by September of 2010.
That means we're looking at Q4 2010 or Q1 2011 for the release of the very first wave of Windows Mobile 7 devices. English and common European languages will be ready initially, while the Asian versions will have to wait until 2011. Microsoft is working with HTC to develop two WM7 smartphones, the Apollo and the Obsession. We'll bring you more details as they are unveiled.
