Earlier this week, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus were spotted strolling down the street.

But a new report says these two are sharing more than a walk these days: they are sharing a roof!

According to The National Enquirer, Miley threatened to move out of her family's Toluca Lake, California home unless her parents allowed her new Australian boyfriend to shack up with them.

"In the end, Billy Ray and Miley's mom, Tish, decided they'd rather have Miley under their roof with Liam than not knowing where she is at night," a family friend told the tabloid, adding that the parents at least insisted on separate bedrooms for the couple.

This actually isn't the first time the Cyrus family has made such an arrangement. In November 2008, Miley's man (and we do mean man!), Justin Gaston, moved in with his young gal pal and her parents.

"Billy Ray believes it's better to keep Miley on a short leash and to monitor her, rather than alienating her and risking a rebellion," the source said. "Whatever happens in her relationship with Liam, her parents want Miley with them for as long as possible."

That may not be for very much longer. Miley is leaving Hannah Montana this year and has made it clear she wants to be treated like an adult.

Her parents should enjoy her company while they can... and cover their ears with a pillow at night.

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 5) At least two people died amid the procession of the Black Nazarene Saturday, the Philippine National Red Cross confirmed.

PNRC Secretary General Gwen Pang told INQUIRER.net that the fatalities were identified as Rodrigo Ocampo, 42, and Bernardo Basilio, 40.

Pang said Ocampo died of cardiac arrest at the Ospital ng Maynila while Basilio died of multiple injuries at the Jose Reyes Hospital.

The PNRC also reported that as of 2 p.m., a total of 221 devotees were provided first aid treatment for various health conditions ranging from dizziness to foot injuries.

Some of the devotees also experienced high blood pressure and lack of oxygen.

More than a million people joined the procession that started at about 8 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta following a mass officiated by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales.

"The volunteers took the patients’ BPs [blood pressures] and gave them first aid such as wound cleansing and dressing," PNRC chairman Richard Gordon said.

Gordon added that a devotee was also rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila due to head injuries.

A PNRC volunteer identified the victim with the head injuries as Adelina Bautista, 80 and resident of Pasay City, who was accidentally hit by a steel bar.

The PNRC has deployed nine ambulances, three rubber boats, and 227 volunteers around Manila to aid devotees during the procession.

Red Cross teams are deployed in the following areas: Rizal team, at the Muelle del Banco National at the foot of Mc Arthur Bridge (Sta. Cruz bridge) Escolta area; Quezon City and National Headquarters (NHQ) team, at Prudential Bank (Sta. Cruz); Valenzuela team, at Carriedo Sta. Cruz; Manila and NHQ team, at the Quiapo Church (711/City State); and the Emergency Response Unit (WaSar) team, under the Mc Arthur Bridge in Binondo.

Earlier in the day, Chief Superintendent Rodolfo Magtibay, Manila Police District head, said some devotees suffered foot injuries as they walked barefoot. Their identities were not disclosed.

Wacky Cataquis of Laguna, 25, and Alberto Tolosa of Tondo both experienced difficulty of breathing as they were crushed by the crowd that tried to get close to the image of the Black Nazarene that is expected to be in Quiapo Church at about 6 p.m.

Police estimated that there were 1.3 million people who gathered at the Quirino Grandstand.

A total of 1,500 policemen from the MPD were deployed throughout the procession route to secure the crowd.

The devotees, wearing maroon and yellow, gathered early Saturday at the Luneta to hear mass officiated by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales.

In his homily, Rosales challenged the devotees to be like the Black Nazarene, who was simple, humble, and charitable.

"Mamuhay kayo ng simple katulad niya. Siya'y larawan ng kababaang-loob. Marunong siyang dumamay. Dalhin natin 'yung tatlong ugali ni Hesus hanggang sa ating pag-uwi [Live like him. He is a symbol of humility. He knows how to comfort. Let us bring the three values of Jesus even when we go home]," said Rosales.

The celebration is a reminder of what transpired four centuries ago when the image of the Black Nazarene was brought from Bagumbayan (now Luneta) to Quiapo.

Manila City Mayor Alfredo Lim, the Hermano Mayor, attended the concelebrated mass.

But even before the mass ended, the devotees outside the barricade tried to enter the stage area to get closer to the image of the Nazarene.

With their white handkerchiefs, the devotees waved as the priest asked them to pray for miracles in their lives.

Michael Jackson loved collaborating with other artists. But there is one rumored hermaphrodite he never had a chance to work with but wanted to: Lady Gaga.

Jackson wanted to invite the "Paparazzi" singer to join him on stage during his This Is It tour, his former choreographer Travis Payne told said yesterday.

Payne suggested Janet, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Celine Dion, Sting, Seal, Bono, and Tina Turner join the tour.

MJ was pleased with the list, but when Payne asked if there was anyone else he wanted to work with, Jackson named one of 2009's breakthrough artists.

"[Michael] literally told me, 'You got to get into her,'" Payne said. "'She's good.'"

Michael Jackson wanted Lady Gaga to join him on tour.

Jackson's admiration for Lady Gaga got Payne interested. "I started listening to her music more and looking at her performances, and I was like, 'You're right.'"

Ironically, in November, Payne received a call from Lady Gaga. He initially thought getting the call was strange, but thought of his conversation with Jackson.

"I told her the story," Payne said. "Of course she was moved by it."

Payne ended up directing and choreographing Lady Gaga at the American Music Awards, as well as her sets on Ellen, The Jay Leno Show, and X-Factor.

Jackson and Lady G both made the top five in 2009 album sales.

Alereon has unveiled new wireless tech that allows a notebook user to wirelessly stream video from the laptop to the HDTV via HDMI. The device is called the Alereon Laptop to HDTV Extender. The system needs no drivers and consists of a 2-inch dongle and a small HDMI adapter.

The device supports Windows 7, Vista, XP, and Mac OS X computers. When set up the device streams the video from the laptop screen to the HDTV in the living room without needing wires. That means that you can stream video from YouTube or Hulu to your big screen.

The system supports transfer speeds of up to 220Mbps and supports up to 720p resolution form up to 30 feet away from the computer. The kit is set to ship in Q1 2010 at an undisclosed price.

Manny Pacquiao was disenchanted and enraged when told that Floyd Mayweather Jr. decided to walk away from their March 13 super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“I am very disappointed that we could not make this fight for the fans and I am angered because of the false accusations from Golden Boy and the Mayweather camp that I used some type of drugs and that is why I have instructed our American lawyers to proceed with the lawsuit to clear my name,” said Pacquiao in a statement released shortly after it was announced that the fight is off.

After Pacquiao’s promoter Top Rank and Mayweather’s representatives – Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) – failed to reach an accord during mediation talks on Tuesday, the arbiter, retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, gave the two sides until the following day to come to an agreement.

But Mayweather simply did not accept a compromise that would have mandated Pacquiao to be tested for blood 24 days before the fight and immediately after the bout.

Bob Arum was furious, declaring that Mayweather “is scared to death of Pacquiao.”

Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz said “the whole blood testing issue that Mayweather wants from Manny is just a façade to get Mayweather out of this fight.”

“I believe that Floyd did not want to tarnish his perfect record and used this blood testing as an excuse to get out of the fight because he knew Manny would never do it. Floyd being the coward found a way out and he did not care if he tarnished another man’s reputation,” added Koncz.

Mayweather had demanded that Pacquiao undergo Olympic-style (random) drug-testing but the Filipino fighter vehemently rejected the proposal and was later incensed that Mayweather and even GBP officials went to the extent of accusing him of having taken performance-enhancing drugs.

Pacquiao has never failed a drug test in all of his close to 20 fights on American soil.

Had both sides agreed on the terms, Pacquiao and Mayweather would have made $25 million apiece plus a hefty share in the pay-per-view, gate receipts, and closed-circuit viewing.

Now that Mayweather is out of the picture, Arum is eyeing reigning World Boxing Association super-welterweight titlist Yuri Foreman, a Belarus-born Israeli now living in Brooklyn, New York.

If Arum picks Foreman for a March 20 date at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Pacquiao will be gunning for his eighth world title.

While a Foreman fight is a landmark bout for Pacquiao, another fight that looks much more attractive is a third fight with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez, a pairing that Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach wants.

MANILA, Philippines -- The warring camps of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are set to meet on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila) in an effort to thresh out their differences and save the March 13 mega-bout between the two fighters.

A report by USA Today said representatives of both boxers will get together in the office of retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein in Santa Monica, California.

The retired judge, who previously successfully mediated a dispute between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions over a promotional tiff in 2006 involving Pacquiao, will mediate the talks as both camps try to end the impasse in the negotiations.

The negotiations have hit the wall after Mayweather’s camp demanded Pacquiao undergo an Olympic-style drug testing before the fight.

The 7-time world champion thumbed down the demand and has filed charges against the Mayweathers and Golden Boy Promotions for insinuating that he was using performance-enhancing drugs.

Public apology
Top Rank chief Bob Arum and Top Rank President Todd DuBoef will attend the meeting on behalf of Pacquiao.

Arum said the only way the negotiations will push through is if the other side drops its demands for random blood-testing and makes a public apology for implying that Pacquiao is taking illegal performance-enhancing drugs.

"Absolutely, [we expect apology] from every single one of them," Arum said. "Everybody."

Arum said he could not say if mediation will save the March 13 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

He also declined to answer if Pacquiao's lawsuit against the Mayweathers and Golden Boy Promotions would be discussed in the meeting.

Pacquiao, through his lawyer Daniel Petrocelli, filed a lawsuit last week seeking $75,000 in compensatory and punitive damages. Petrocelli will also be present at the mediation.

Mayweathers still want the Pacquiao fight
Meanwhile, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe told Boxing.Fanhouse.com they are still willing to make a deal with Pacquiao despite the drug testing mess.

Ellerbe said they wanted to present the fight, considered to be the biggest in recent years, to boxing fans.

“Things are still at an impasse, but we're still ready, willing and able to try to make a deal. We feel that this is the biggest fight in the history of boxing. We want to give this fight to the fans,” he said.

Ellerbe added that it also doesn’t make sense for Pacquiao to fight anyone else except Mayweather at this stage of his career.

“Freddie Roach and I might not see eye-to-eye on a lot of different things, [but] Freddie has done a great job with guiding Manny's career… I can't imagine Freddie advising Manny Pacquiao to take a fight with Yuri Foreman for a quarter of what he would make by fighting Floyd,” he said.

However, Ellerbe maintained that the Mayweathers remained firm on demanding random blood and urine testing.

He explained that a fight at this level would require nothing less from both boxers.

“I just think that at the end of the day, Manny Pacquiao will put his country on his back and eventually step up to the plate and agree to the random blood and urine testing,” said Ellerbe.

He also denied claiming that Pacquiao was using performance enhancement drugs.

“From Day One, I've never accused Manny Pacquiao of anything. All that I've said from Day One is that we want to ensure that there is a level playing field because this is what the fans deserve,” said Ellerbe.

“We've done everything on our part to try to make this fight come to fruition. Now, the other side just has to check their egos at the door and make a deal and give the fans what they deserve,” he added.

WASHINGTON - Facebook said Monday that it is blocking a website called "Web 2.0 Suicide Machine" that helps users delete their social network profiles.

The number one social network also said it had sent a "cease-and-desist" letter to another website, Seppukoo.com, which also helps you kill off your virtual identity.

The Web 2.0 Suicide Machine site, which features a hangman's noose on its homepage, deletes profiles, friends and other information on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn for users who provide their account information.

"This machine lets you delete all your energy sucking social-networking profiles, kill your fake virtual friends, and completely do away with your Web2.0 alterego," it says.

Facebook, in a statement to AFP, said the suicide site was in violation of Facebook rules.

"Facebook provides the ability for people who no longer want to use the site to either deactivate their account or delete it completely," Facebook said.

"Web 2.0 Suicide Machine collects login credentials, which is a violation of our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (SRR)," it said.

"We've blocked the site's access to Facebook as is our policy for sites that violate our SRR," Facebook said. "We're currently investigating and considering whether to take further action."

Facebook, which claims more than 300 million users, also said it had sent Seppukoo.com "a cease-and-desist letter for similarly violating our policies."

Seppukoo.com urges users to "impress your friends" and "disconnect yourself" by committing online suicide in the manner of Japanese samurai.

Ritual samurai suicide was known as "seppuku."

"As the seppuku restores the samurai's honour as a warrior, seppukoo.com deals with the liberation of the digital body," the site says.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader also failed to get any support - are we suffering from long-titled kiddy-fantasy-fatigue?

Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island was pushed back to 2010 at the last minute, otherwise it would have made the list. Kick-Ass showed its hand too late for the vote.

We don’t hold out much hope for The Wolfman as it’s had terrible problems during production, but it could surprise us all in February.

And yes The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is released too, if you’re into that sort of thing.

After all, why else would the co-stars be seen together over the weekend on the Isle of Wight, an island located in the English Channel about five miles off the south coast of England? There's certainly no New Moon press tour going on at the moment.

But one young fan didn't just spot the rumored couple there; she snapped photos with each gorgeous star!

While the love birds appear happy (and hooded) in the shots above, they'll soon be saying their goodbyes.

Stewart is scheduled to appear at the Sundance Film Festival for a few days to promote The Runaways; while Pattinson has already started has talk show rounds to make in anticipation of Remember Me.

Fortunately, Twilight Saga fans know they needn't wait long to see this pair together again on screen: Eclipse hits theaters on June 30.

Just weeks after she made news on a joyous occasion, Casey Johnson has passed away.

The Johnson & Johnson heiress was found dead in Los Angeles this morning. She was 30 years old.

On December 9, Johnson and Tila Tequila announced they were engaged. TMZ spoke to the reality star earlier this evening, who said Johnson stayed at her house on December 28 after the pair had an argument. Tila has been unable to contact Casey since.

"Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family," Tequila Tweeted today.

HELSINKI (Reuters) - The world's top mobile phone maker, Nokia, has launched another court case against Apple for alleged patent violations, in an increasingly fierce legal battle between two leaders of the smartphone market.

Nokia filed the case at a Delaware court in the United States on December 29 seeking damages for Apple's alleged infringement of seven Nokia patents in most of its products, court documents showed.

The suit coincided with a claim filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) over the same patents, which Nokia alleged Apple infringed in "virtually all of its mobile phones, portable music players, and computers" sold.

Nokia needs the new case in Delaware to ask for damages as the ITC does not decide on financial compensation.

The seven patents in the two cases relate to Nokia technology being used by Apple to create features in user interface, camera, antenna and power management technologies.

Last year, both companies launched patent infringement suits against the other.

Nokia has stumbled badly in the fast-growing smartphone sector and relative newcomer Apple has gained a lot of ground against the market leader thanks to the iPhone, but still trails Nokia in smartphones sales.

Apple, which entered the industry in mid-2007, overtook Nokia in the September quarter as the cellphone maker generating the highest total operating profit.

The legal dispute, potentially involving hundreds of millions of dollars in annual royalties, reflects the shifting balance of power in the mobile industry as cellphones morph into handheld computers that can play video games and surf the Web.

MANILA, Philippines - Larry Merchant knows a good, clean fighter when he sees one.

And Manny Pacquiao, in the eyes of the analytical HBO boxing commentator, is just one of the classic examples, amid accusations that the Filipino icon is into some performance-enhancing drugs.

“I see no indications that Pacquiao is anything but an exceptional, elite fighter,” Merchant said as he shared his precious thoughts on the ongoing drama with Michael Falgoust of USA Today.

Pacquiao’s historic rise as the first boxer to win seven world titles in different weight classes has led some people, especially the camp of Floyd Mayweather Jr., to raise serious doubts on his ability.

Pacquiao insists that he’s clean. In fact, he has filed charges against the Mayweathers and Golden Boy’s top brass, Oscar dela Hoya and Richard Schaefer, for trying to destroy his image as a champion.

This has led to a major impasse in the projected Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight in March. While there are efforts to save the fight, it’s most likely it won’t happen as earlier planned and scheduled.

Merchant said Pacquiao is not the first boxer to reap success as they moved up in weight, saying Dela Hoya himself started out at 130 pounds and ended up fighting and winning at 160 pounds.

“There are many precedents in boxing of smaller fighters to move up in weight division and be successful later in their careers,” said Merchant, also dropping the names of some great champions.

“Henry Armstrong turned pro at 120. He also fought for a middleweight championship. Alexis Arguello was a bantamweight when he started as a 16-year-old but he wound up fighting in the 140s,” he said.

And Pacquiao?

“Pacquiao fights in the low ‘40s. That means he has breakfast and lunch before the weigh-in where most fighters eat lightly, if at all. He’s done a few amazing things. It’s not like he’s going around knocking everybody stiff with one punch. He’s a boxer-puncher who has won on his boxing ability and his quickness.

“He’s not Superman’s son. He’s just a helluva fighter who has captured the imagination of the fight world and become a kind of international cultural figure who transcends the sport,” said Merchant.

He really thinks Pacquiao is clean.

“If (his trainer) Freddie Roach says he’s clean – and he’s as straight a shooter as there is in boxing – I believe Freddie Roach,” said Merchant.

The HBO analyst thinks the fight is going to happen and that there’s just so much money on the table that both camps, with Mayweather calling for random drug testing and Pacquiao going the other way, should find ways to do it.

If not in March, Merchant said the fight may happen later this year.

“I’ve always looked upon these types of negotiations as a kind of ritual of dominance. ‘I can impose my will on you in the negotiations, therefore I can impose my will on you in the fight."
