Twilight Saga fans are in for a major shock this spring: Robert Pattinson will appear on the big screen in a very un-Edward-like role.

As Tyler in Remember Me, Pattinson fights with his (human) father, deals with a tragedy and falls for a blonde.

The actor spoke about the role in a new interview, explaining what drew him to the character:

“I remember reading the script and thinking that I like the flow of the dialogue. It was just different and in a lot of ways, other lead male characters in other films seem like just a vessel: naive and ridiculously innocent, so audiences could feel along with him. But Tyler didn’t feel like that."

While this drastic change to Robert's on-screen persona might be jarring, have no fear: the guy is still smokin hot. As proof, we present a pair of recently-leaked outtakes from a photo shoot with Entertainment Weekly:

Because it's always more fun to look at Pattinson than merely read his quotes, check out the aforementioned interview below.

Apple unveiled the long rumored and highly anticipated Apple Tablet called Apple iPad today.
The Apple iPad is a universal Tablet computer that runs the iPhone OS and uses the first Apple CPU - The Apple A4.
Apple made the iPad to be used for almost anything including web surfing, iBook reading, movie watching, content creation with iWorks, gaming and any iPhone app will work on the iPad.
The iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds-- thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. iPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the iPad, and will run almost all of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. iPad will be available in late March starting at the breakthrough price of just $499.
iPad's brilliant 9.7-inch, LED-backlit display features IPS technology to deliver crisp, clear images and consistent color with an ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle. The highly precise, capacitive Multi-Touch display is amazingly accurate and responsive whether scrolling web pages or playing games. The intelligent soft keyboard pioneered on iPhone takes advantage of iPad's larger display to offer an almost full-size soft keyboard. iPad also connects to the new iPad Keyboard Dock with a full-size traditional keyboard.

iPad is powered by A4, Apple's next-generation system-on-a-chip. Designed by Apple, the new A4 chip provides exceptional processor and graphics performance along with long battery life of up to 10 hours. Apple's advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology deliver up to 1,000 charge cycles without a significant decrease in battery capacity over a typical five year lifespan.

iPad comes in two versions--one with Wi-Fi and the other with both Wi-Fi and 3G. iPad includes the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi, and the 3G versions support speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on HSDPA networks. Apple and AT&T announced breakthrough 3G pre-paid data plans for iPad with easy, on-device activation and management.

The Apple iPad is the interface to a whole bunch of new Apple services and software. Apple iBooks will offer ebooks and iWorks got a new touch interface that is really extensive and allows you to create content on the iPad including presentations and spreedsheets. With Pages, Keynote and Numbers you can create beautifully formatted documents, stunning presentations with animations and transitions, and spreadsheets with charts, functions and formulas. The three apps will be available separately through the App Store for $9.99 each.

You can choose to use 3G on the iPad with extremely low priced prepaid data plans from AT&T starting at $14.99.

"iPad is our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "iPad creates and defines an entirely new category of devices that will connect users with their apps and content in a much more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before."

The Appel iPad will be available in late March worldwide for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model.
The Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad will be sold in the US through the Apple Store, Apple's retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date. iBookstore will be available in the US at launch.

Nick Jonas has started a new band.

Kevin Jonas has begun writing his own music.

Rumors of a Jonas Brothers break-up are circulating, but Joe Jonas has a message for fans: Chill.

The singer appeared this morning to appear on The Ryan Seacrest Show and addressed this troubling talk:

“We’ve wanted to take some time off for a while now. We’ve been touring hardcore for two and a half, three years, so it’s nice to have a little break where we all can take a break and do some different things.”

JJ

What side projects does Joe have lined up?

“I want to so some acting - find the right movie and all. I’ve also been in the studio writing a lot with my friends. Not sure where that’s going to lead, whether it’s another JB album or a side deal.

"I definitely think we [Jonas Brothers] will come back for another album because we love what we do and we love being in a band together.”

That sound you hear is a collective sigh of relief from teenage girls around the globe. Below, you can listen to Joe's interview.

For a change this story is not an Apple rumor. Apple released the numbers for their fiscal 2010 first Quarter that includes the all important holiday shopping season.
Apple reports the all-time highest revenue and profit for the past quarter in company history. Isn't there a recession? Apparently not for Apple!

Apple posted revenue of $15.68 billion and a net quarterly profit of $3.38 billion, or $3.67 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $11.88 billion and net quarterly profit of $2.26 billion, or $2.50 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 40.9 percent, up from 37.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 58% of the quarter's revenue.

Apple sold 3.36 million Macintosh computers during the quarter, representing a 33% unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The Company sold 8.7 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 100% unit growth over the year-ago quarter.
Apple sold 21 million iPods during the quarter, representing an eight percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter.

So Mac and the iPhone are on a stellar growth path and the iPod sales are declining, but still 21 million units are a lot.

During the quarter Apple elected retrospective adoption of the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s amended accounting standards related to certain revenue recognition. Adoption of the new accounting standards significantly changes how the Company accounts for certain items, particularly sales of iPhone and Apple TV.

"If you annualize our quarterly revenue, it’s surprising that Apple is now a $50+ billion company," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. "The new products we are planning to release this year are very strong, starting this week with a major new product that we’re really excited about."

Steve Jobs is hinting at the Apple Tablet that will be unveiled tomorrow along with possibly some exciting iPhone news.

Even with a cigartte dangling from his lips, most people agreed Robert Pattinson still looked beautiful.

But will that opinion change now that the Twilight Saga star has debuted a new look?

Soon after walking away from his appearance on Friday night's Hope for Haiti telethon, Pattinson was spotted in a full beard. The facial hair is quite a departure from the fresh-faced vampire with whom movie fans have fallen in love.

Take a look at Robert's bushy side below and let us know your take on it:

T-Mobile's Sidekick is one of the most popular, celebrated feature phones out there. Its unique design and awesome keyboard make it just about perfect for fast, on-the-fly messaging. Even in this age of smartphones, the Sidekick has managed to hold onto a comfortable little niche for itself. Sadly, if BGR is correct, the Sidekick may not be long for this world.

This has yet to be confirmed, but the launch of the (also unconfirmed) T-Mobile myTouch Slide is supposed to signal the beginning of the end for Sidekick sales. After the Slide launches, T-Mo will begin phasing out sales of new models. Again, this has not yet been corroborated but it certainly has the ring of truth about it. We all knew this day was inevitable.
